The Excel-Ray process can make PMMA fibers diffuse along a chosen length. Rather than using the light at the end of the fiber, it is here distributed homogeneously along its length. Our treament allows them to reach a high output level flow/inflow of about 80%.

Deportation of the light source is the main advantage of the optical fiber; this is always preserved since the diffusing optical fiber can keep an un-diffusing lenght between the light source and lighting part.
The brightness of optical fiber depends on the chosen diffusing length and is proportional to the diamiter of the fiber. Thus, a 2mm diameter lights 4 times more than a 1mm one. |

Fibers may optionally be encased individually or in bundles (see diffusing cables).
A collector can contain several diffusing optical fibers depending on the source used and on the expected use.
We generally uses halogen or iodide generators to power these optical fibers but in some cases LEDs are ideal (see light sources).
